Roe & Co. Limited Release
Cask Strength 2020 Edition

Superior quality of print for low volumes

Produced on a heavy 600-micron paperboard and embellished with a beautiful copper foil mirroring the deep colour and reflections of the whiskey inside, CoLab were able to produce a carton worthy of the outstanding design and the outstanding product inside.

The brief

Having aged this Single Malt Irish Whiskey for 13 years, it was essential that it was presented in a beautiful carton. But it goes without saying that a limited release product, required a limited number of cartons. So, the challenge here was to produce the absolute best quality of production for a short production run, something that’s not usually possible without incurring excessive costs or high minimum order volumes.

What we did

The CoLab proposition here is simple. Our hybrid of conventional and digital technology allows us the best of both worlds. We can achieve the highest standard of print, comparable to any, without incurring the costs of printing plates and therefore keeping costs down and making minimum orders a thing of the past.

What’s more, working closely with the talented designer Aoife Davies and Hen’s Teeth studio, we were able to produce print runs of one single carton in advance of the main run so that they could see the finished product before the production run, and make any necessary amendments or tweaks. This wasn’t a mock-up they were seeing but a single carton of the actual job printed in advance.
